Meet Our Team
Dr. Sarah Allin
Dr. Sarah Allin is a part-owner of the South West Animal Health Centre and Associate Pet Hospital. She fulfills the role of manager of the Associate Pet Hospital. She works at both the Animal Health Centre and the Associate Pet Hospital as she enjoys working with both small and large animals. She was raised on a mixed farm north west of Eatonia, SK. Her interest in becoming a veterinarian began growing up with her family's cow-calf operation, as well as involvement in the 4-H beef project. She joined the team here in May of 2005 after graduating from WCVM. She, her husband, and two sons live on an acreage southwest of Swift Current.
Dr. Alison Eltom
Dr. Alison Eltom practices exclusively at the Associate Pet Hospital 3 days a week. She has a special interest in feline medicine but loves working with all small animals. She grew up in Terrace, BC. She graduated from WCVM in 1999 and then moved to Alberta to work at a small animal clinic. Alison joined the team at Associate Pet Hospital in the summer of 2008 and has been there ever since. She lives with her husband, Brett, and son, Drew, right in Swift Current.
Dr. Margo Hemmelder
Dr. Margo Hemmelder is a mixed practitioner who works at both the Animal Health Centre and the Associate Pet Hospital. Margo likes all aspects of mixed practice especially equine medicine. She was born and raised in The Netherlands. She graduated in 1998 from the Vet College there and moved to Stoughton, SK, where she worked for 9 years in a 2-vet mixed practice. In December 2007, she moved to Swift Current and started working with our team. She lives on an acreage in Rhineland with her 2 dogs, 6 cats and 2 horses.
Dr. Brittany Smith
Dr. Brittany Smith was raised on an acreage in northern Alberta, then her family moved to Strathmore, AB while she was in high school. Her greatest passion, working with beef cattle, developed from spending numerous summers and weekends on her aunt’s ranch south of Kindersley. She completed three years of an undergraduate degree at the University of Lethbridge, before attending the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon and graduating in 2017. When not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Smith enjoys camping with her boyfriend Kyle and Chihuahua named Bug, riding her horse, spending time with family and travelling.
Dr. Smith works as a mixed animal practitioner at both the Associate Pet Hospital and South West Animal Health Center and is very excited to join such a great team of people, serving a wonderful community of both small and large animal clients.
Patricia Perrin, RVT
Patricia is originally from the Swift Current area and began working with us in the spring of 2002 after she graduated from the Vermilion Agriculture College. Patricia was on the Board of Directors for the Saskatchewan Association of Veterinary Technologists and takes a keen interest in her association . She spends part of her time at the Associate Pet Hospital and part at the Animal Health Centre. Patricia lives north of Swift Current on her acreage with her husband Trinity, her children Tristen, Trey and Paisley.
Lynne Dyck, RVT
Lynne graduated from The Kelsey Institute of Technology, Saskatoon, SK in 1993. Lynne works one day a week at the Associate Pet Hospital. We would love to have her around more often but she is busy at home on the farm raising a family and taking care of all her arabian and arabian x horses.
Chelsea Amy, RVT
Chelsea is another one of our Saskatchewan girls, growing up in Conquest, Sk. She graduated from the Animal Health Technology program in 2006 at Lakeland College. She then moved to Regina where she worked at Sherwood Animal Clinic before deciding to move to Southwest Saskatchewan. Chelsea started working full time at the Associate Pet Hospital in February 2010. In her spare time she enjoys trimming and shoeing horses and spending time with her dogs and horse.
Kaylen Erskine, RVT
Kaylen graduated from Lakeland College in Vermilion AB in 2015. She then started working here at the Associate Pet Hospital as her first job as vet tech. Kaylen is originally from Assiniboia SK and enjoys participating in rodeo and sporting events.
